This Convention implements the objectives of the 1989 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in the field of international adoption.<\/p><p>In Germany, the placement of domestic and foreign children for adoption is regulated by the Adoption Placement Act (AdVermG). In addition, the provisions of the Hague Convention, which ensure quality standards, have been in force since 2002.
