A Wonderful Start to School!
This school year, many adoptive families are celebrating a special milestone: the first day of school. There’s anticipation and curiosity — and yes, a little excitement too. It’s the start of a new chapter, with something new to discover every day.
To you, dear adopted children who have only recently come to Germany: a new language, new people, a new school — that can feel like a lot at once. But little by little, things will become familiar: letters and numbers, hallways and classrooms, voices and faces.
Wishing every child and family courage, strength, and confidence on this journey.

We are pleased to welcome an adoptive family and their child from the Czech Republic to Germany. It is particularly pleasing that the process went smoothly and that everything could be arranged quickly. Many thanks to the Central Authority specialists, as well as the social workers and psychologists who supported the family on site. We wish the family a good start, a speedy settlement and many happy moments together.

A small chapter begins. Yet it is the start of a great shared story!
We're so happy for this family who've just started the first step of getting to know their future adopted child at a children's home in the Czech Republic. We sincerely hope that this will gradually evolve into a trusting relationship filled with warmth, patience and joy for the prospective adoptive parents and child.

Welcome home! One of our adoptive families has finally been able to welcome their child from Thailand into their home. This is the third arrival this year. We are delighted for them! We wish them all the best for this special new chapter in their lives!
At the same time, we’re thinking of all the adoptive families who are still waiting for their pick-up date in Thailand, Taiwan, or the Czech Republic. We hope that the remaining waiting time passes quickly and that the day of pick-up comes soon.
04. August 2025
We wish all adoptive families a wonderful and enriching time together during the school holidays. Our adoptive families with ties to Thailand are particularly close to our hearts right now: many of them are enjoying a carefree holiday in Thailand, while others are using the time to take important steps such as applying for ID cards. Some families are even facing a particularly emotional moment – meeting their biological family.
We’re very much looking forward to hearing about your unique experiences and cherished memories. Each moment of this special journey is an important part of your family's story, and we are grateful to be able to accompany you on it.
Due to our current staffing levels, we kindly ask for your understanding if it occasionally takes us a little longer than usual to respond to messages or enquiries.

A special family gathering, full of joy and togetherness.
Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of attending a wonderful family meeting. Around 25 families who had adopted children from the Pattaya Children's Home came together, as did prospective adoptive parents who will soon be able to hold their children in their arms.
We were very delighted to welcome two dedicated volunteers from the Pattaya Children's Home. They shared valuable insights into their work and experiences of preparing children for adoption.

A big thank you to the Pattaya Children's Home for its great work and to the volunteers who made this day so enriching with their commitment and stories.

Today was a really special day!
A family finally picked up their adopted child from a children's home in Thailand. It was an emotional and joyful moment that had been long awaited. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the children's home for their loving and intensive preparation. Our thoughts are with all the families who are still waiting for their pick-up date. We wish those who will be travelling soon strength for the final bureaucratic steps – the goal is within reach, and it will be worth it!
April
Although many things take time, we are still making progress.
We have received child proposals from Thailand and Taiwan. Some families are now preparing to pick up their children from their country of origin, which is an exciting and emotional time. For those who are still waiting for a child proposal, we hope that things will move forward soon. We know how much patience this phase requires, and we are thinking of you. There has also been progress in the area of root searching. We receive new requests. Some families have already received initial report from the country of origin, while other searches are still ongoing – we are staying on the ball.
Happy Thai New Year!
We would like to send our warmest greetings to all families for the Songkran Festival on 13 April 2025! Some families spend this special time in their children's country of origin, getting to know the culture, people, and roots. Prospective families also take this opportunity to familiarise themselves with Thailand on a private trip. We were particularly delighted to accompany one family on their children's first beautiful encounter with their birth family in Thailand, a moment full of closeness, joy and meaning. We would like to thank everyone who makes such encounters possible, especially the birth family, whose openness made this precious moment possible.
We wish you a happy new year filled with wonderful moments and enriching experiences.
New: Applications for Bulgaria now possible

After a long wait for the results of the search for their roots in their country of origin, we are delighted that the search was successful and that the adopted child was able to meet their biological family. This moment was indescribable for everyone involved – full of emotion, questions, and a deep connection.
We want to say a big thank you to the adoptive family for being so open, trusting and helpful. We would also like to thank the authorities in the child's country of origin for their extensive support. Without it, this meeting would not have been possible.
We hope that this experience will enrich the lives of adopted children and give them the confidence and inner strength to face the future.
02.-04.12.2024
Between 2 and 4 December 2024, one of our employees visited the children's home in Pattaya and the Central Authority for International Adoptions in Bangkok.

While at the children's home, she experienced the dedicated and loving care provided to the children first-hand, and had the opportunity to ask any questions she had about the on-site procedures. At the central authority, she engaged in a constructive discussion about the requirements for prospective adoptive families and the current challenges in the international adoption process.
Our sincere thanks to both organisations for their hospitality and informative exchanges.

On 23 November 2024, eleven 10–15-year-olds joined a youth forum led by Theprathan Moll and Ms Berit Haas.
Those who wished could tell their story or speak about travels to their country of origin and family encounters there. Group games fostered a relaxed atmosphere, and the meeting closed with time for networking and sharing contact details.

Biographical work with adopted children took place on 16 November 2024. The focus was on playful and creative activities.
In a safe environment, the children explored their family histories and discovered their value. They had fun and got fully involved. The programme combined serious topics with a relaxed, child-friendly approach, encouraging active participation. The aim was to make them aware that their history is meaningful.
Our specialists ensured comfort and well-being throughout. At the same time, parents joined sessions to share experiences and receive expert advice on supporting their children.

Another arrival to celebrate! A family has welcomed a new sibling from Thailand—may their life as a family of four be filled with joy and unforgettable memories.

New Countries:
Ms. Haas spent the summer travelling to Bucharest in Romania and Chișinău in Moldova. While there, she met with the relevant ministries responsible for international adoptions in both countries. The discussions were conducted in a very friendly atmosphere on an equal footing. It was important to determine the need for future cooperation. The ministries were particularly interested in the fact that we work nationwide, enabling us to acquire cumulative expertise on our partner countries and ensure good networking among families and long-term aftercare.
While both ministries were ready to start at once, we, as an accredited organisation, require prior approval. We apply to both states via our state youth welfare office, which circulates the applications to all state youth welfare offices nationwide. Approval is likely to take several weeks.
But once it is available, we will submit the official accreditation application for Romania and Moldova, along with all the necessary documents with certified translations.
We expect to prepare and send out the first applications at the beginning of 2025. In the meantime, we will publish two country pages detailing the application criteria. As subsidiarity is rigorously observed in both countries, children from the age of three are entered into the international adoption database.
In Romania, at least one of the partners must have Romanian roots. There is no official age limit.

Juni:
