Requirements
We are looking for parents for children who already have a more or less painful history and need a lot of understanding and patience.
Special requirements are therefore placed on these parents:
- They must be willing to maintain an intensive dialogue with our organisation, both during the preparation phase and after the procedure.
- They need to be particularly caring, patient and resilient.
- They must treat the child's country of origin and personal past with sensitivity and respect.
- They must be willing to spend a lot of time with the child and to support the child's integration in a responsible way.
Our many years of experience has resulted in the following guidelines for the selection of applicants in the context of the German Adoption Act:
- Adoption applicants should normally be married and between the ages of 25 and 45. Exceptions may be made for older children or children who are difficult to place. Parents should be of an appropriate age for the child.
- The place of residence must be in Germany.
- There must be a willingness to come to terms with one's own involuntary childlessness or the decision to adopt.
- Applicants must be in good health and have a clean criminal record.
- There must be stability in the family's working, living and income situation, as well as in the adoptive parents' partnership.
- Readiness for career change if you have a child.
